Bio

Sampson-Gamma Electric Company is a recording project started by Woodrow Johnson II in 2007.   The name is an homage to Dr. Henry Thomas Sampson, Jr. African-American Scientist, Inventor, Author and (believe it or not ) Playwright, who invented the Gamma Electrical Cell

As for our music, the goal is to create a fusion of Jazz, Indie Rock, R&B, and Electronic into a chilled-out type of sound.  The first recording of the project was "One Below Zero", which was released in May 2008.  On the strength of the singles, "Cold Blue" and "Outer Reaches", the recording received airplay from several College/Alternative Rock stations in the U.S. and Canada in 2009.

SGEC will now attempt to reach an even wider audience with its 2nd album, "Enjoy The Equinox", set for release in May 2013.
